You and me don’t know each other, buddy. That’s a good thing. You see, when somebody gets too greedy and starts cutting in on my boss’ business that’s when I’m called in. I fix problems so they don’t bother my boss no more. Sometimes I solve problems in a back alley or sometimes at the end of a pier. It don’t matter. When I take a case I see it all the way through no matter how ugly things get.

Take this one case I had. Leggy brunette, 21 years old, smart as a whip. Too smart, if you ask me. Thought she could pull a fast one on the company. You’d think that a high-falutin college grad with a Ph.D would know better. Guess not. Ph.D must stand for “pretty hot dame” because this one was a looker all right. Me and my partner were looking her up and down as she was crying on the floor before us.

Maybe it was my partner that scared her. He’s got an ugly mug, so that makes sense. Her eyes were wide with terror as he strapped her onto the metal table. Guess all his scars made her tremble, or it was because the table had hinges and springs so it could be… arranged… in any way we wanted.

She might have been crying because of me. I’m not much to look at and I’ve got a violent streak a mile wide. I had to show the dame who was boss, ya know? Make her understand real good that when I say do something, she better do it. She didn’t like it much, but tearing her clothes to ribbons with one hand while my other hand… Well, you can probably picture what I mean.
